Versatile and Beginner-Friendly Impact Play with a Paddle

A paddle is one of the safest and most versatile tools to use for impact play. It gives you easy control over the experience and it can produce a range of sensations (from mild and easily manageable to a lot more intense).

Paddling is such a popular kink and you have lots of tools that you can try. The shape, size and the material a paddle is made of will all determine aspects of the experience.

Spanking paddles can be made from leather, silicone, rubber, wood or various types of synthetic materials. Faux leather and silicone are great choices for beginners. Bamboo and wood require a bit more experience. Rubber paddles are the ones reserved to highly experienced impact play practitioners.

Beginners should choose paddles that are smooth. Paddles with added texture and spikes will obviously produce intense sensations that aren’t a great choice for everyone. If you are an experienced sub and you enjoy a bit more of a stinging sensation, a textured spanking paddle will be right up your alley.

A few other cool features worth looking for in your paddle include an easy grip loop, a little bit of padding for more comfort or a double-ended choice (there are paddle and flogger combos that offer a lot more versatility as far as impact play is concerned).
